First flood irrigation yesterday. Nice to see the acequias running. Speeds up the spring process, with green sprouts overnight. The water absorbed quickly due to lack of ground moisture. Not sure if we will have irrigation beyond spring.

This photo was taken during spring runoff several years ago. The Rio Grande hasn't looked like this since. These days, there are stretches where it is easier to navigate the bosque via the former river channel than the forest.

El Morro | Stone guest log between Acoma and Zuni pueblos. Petroglyphs and inscriptions from the waves of humans traveling through the region. There's an oasis at the base of the mesa.

Heron Lake was my favorite when I was young. There was more water, lots of deer, lots of sailboats, and eagles nesting in the trees along the shore.

Alarming to watch the rivers and lakes dry up.

Besides all the daily chaos and cruelty brought into our lives by the corrupt regime, daily notifications of more fire starts in Arizona, at a time, when normally, the fire danger has stopped because of monsoon rains, this year the rains are minimal and most areas bone dry #WaterIsPrecious 😥💦💥
