My daughter and I made waterpaints with sap from a tree at the park and colours around the house. The tumeric went mouldly and it turns out you can't replicate gum arabic and centuries of experience by winging it. Who knew!?

Using Leo's tears for his waterpaints to decorate Leo's pretty face, embellishing his stripes and eyes.
So far Mikey's favorite encounter was when Leo approached him while spray painting a mural. The mess they made and splotches of spraypaint left on Leo satisfied a part of Mikey

Completely off topic, I thought I had zero artistic skill. I'm off work sick and a bit stressed so I bought some waterpaints 3 wks ago. Just started playing around and trying things out
Today I painted my ragdoll cat Florence. Or at least a portion of her. I don't totally hate it!

Small practice work, made with gouache paints (17.3.2025). Since I sent the painting to this lovely kitty's owner I don't have a chance to try get better digital version of it. Looking forward to share more of my traditional art adventures!
As a reference I used a photo of my friend's cat, Maxima ♥

That moment when you're dancing and the music all starts to melt together into a single flow like waterpaints mixing and swirling together 🫠 🫠

ok I had some fun with metallic waterpaints this time.
Then for shiggles I did some digi-filtered versions in GIMP.

Tis horribly unethical to enable such misbehavior in the frogs. Grant them better enrichment, like unsolved problems in mathematics or… would waterpaints be safe for them? Obviously not acrylics.

actually, if this became a style of tattoo, this loose application of color similar almost to waterpaints, that would be ddpe a.f.

I love the textured feel and colors you use. Really does feel like waterpaints and markers. Like. *actual* waterpaints and markers instead of brushes meant to mimic them.
(inb4 this is how I find out those aren't digital art pieces somehow)
