Lot of rain last night some localised flooding. Driving through the village saw 2 kids in full waterproofs waiting patiently by a massive puddle. So I slowed and drove around the puddle looking in my mirrors to see the disappointment.

You really have to love birding a place to go do it in the rain. It was sluicing down when Kathy and I hit the south end of Vatersay today. Waterproofs, optics and ourselves utterly drenched, but the payback was finding a juv American Golden Plover, the first Vatersay record. #birdingscotland

They make this two part spraypaint that waterproofs concrete and wood and such and I’ve always wanted to use it to stencil rain-themed poetry on the sidewalk so the poem only appears in the rain.
