What I hate about Joann's closing is now I have to go to like 5 different stores to get what I need. Michaels has thread and sometimes zippers and binding. Wawak has needles and interfacing and all that stuff. There are 3 different stores I buy fabric from. I have to go to etsy for specialty items

Even if all you do is replace buttons and hand-stitch up a torn hem, make sure you have some good needles, a pin cushion and an emery (the strawberry is a needle sharpener), spools of thread, snips, and assorted replacement buttons.
