My bearded dragon was 16 when I bought him some wax worms for treats. The little shit at the petshop chose to lecture me about how unhealthy waxworms are & I was like, "yeah, but these are treats for a very old man." & he continued to give me shit about buying them. I'm still mad
People complained that Chengdu zoo was letting their clouded leopard get fat, their expert explained "This cat is like thirty years old, that's twice as old clouded leopards GET, and he's just had major surgery. Making him lose weight would do WAY more harm, just let him have this."

Every time I feed Poe waxworms he croaks in excitement before actually eating them. He just gets so riled up.

It’s only with waxworms, he loves them. Figures he would like the treats best.

I wondered why the tub of Waxworms was emptying so quickly. The cheeky Robin was helping itself in my kitchen, taking the worms to feed its chicks, which fledged over two weeks ago. Now it's taking them for itself. #birds #gardenbirds #mywildlifegarden #cheekyRobin #naturephotography #NWCheshireUK

The blackbirds absolutely love the live mealworms and waxworms I’ve been putting out. A few males visit, stuff their beaks then fly off to some equally enthusiastic chicks I assume #birdsky #naturesky #gardensky #UKGardening

can't believe ppl will feed these guys a diet of only pellets. our turtles get a different salad and a different protein every day (waxworms, mealworms, pinkies) with supplements. look him in the face and tell him he doesn't deserve to eat his delicious little worms you can't

Waxworms also have high fat content, so that will help him recover.

This is also a perching-type bird, so if you can rig up anything for him to perch on, so he's not sitting directly on the ground, that will make him feel more secure.

waxworms for Darwin.

Which helped him gain weight and he had a huge growth burst. He's actually big for a Mainland chahoua gecko but not abnormally so. He's very healthy and happy.

And he gets insect protein via exotic nutrition co which sells packaged killed insects, they're gut loaded and fresh

It seems like only yesterday I was recruiting for my personal army of highly trained cotton-top tamarins

The waxworms turned out to be a better incentive than the cauliflower. Must make a note for the future
