Under a new AD that Bourne helped choose to be his successor. Bourne also has overseen nationals ranked programs in multiple other sports with the WCWS run in 2021 and women’s lacrosse title as well.
Dude knew (knows) how to pick winners.

I'm sure many of y'all/them are lovely but my standing experience w/ OU supporters is the old dude who didn't know college softball arguing w/ my 30-something week pregnant self at the WCWS about why I was wearing Michigan gear when they weren't even there, so uh, I'm not a huge fan of their fans.

I too remember the MNW and WCW was handcuffed with contracts, wrestling management that was just awful and corporate enshitification that made it unable to compete.
Difference is in spite of WCWs shortcomings, they actually tried.
WWE is not.

We legitimately got to see the best MBB team in school history, plus a top flight baseball team, a WCWS softball team, and this volleyball team lost 1 freaking game last year.
Golden age, indeed. 🥇

I'm going to meet with some NCAA softball coaches this week, and I'm getting ready. I just tried to look up the specs on an NCAA softball. "a softball is also slightly heavier than a baseball, as a softball weighs between 1.7 and 2.3 ounces." Who boy. www.usatoday.com/story/sports...
How big is a softball? Size, weight for 2025 NCAA softball tournament, WCWS
How big is a college softball and how does it compared to a college baseball in size? Here's what to know as the NCAA softball tournament continues.

Near the end of WCWs 83 week run I started to watch both shows. Nitro live and Raw on the late night replay. Pretty much around the time that Mick Foley won the title was when I switched that, and when Russo took over WCW was when I dropped WCW completely.

Solid year from a great but not quite Championship level team. Wish we could have found a way but being one of the last teams in the WCWS has zero shame.
