JAVASCRIPT was a MISTAKE

WEBPAGES were never supposed to be DYNAMIC

HTML (capitalized but no emphasis intended) was built for organizing DATA

etc.
Secure against the PHP vulnerabilities!

you ever think about how many hours of your life you wasted working out embedded data structures on webpages and then going through every inconsistency when the parser hung again instead of just waving your hand at an llm to figure it out

maybe the days when we had to know how to host webpages and sorted fics by file size weren't so bad, actually???
i was talking to some people on the ao3 subreddits (very toxic, would not recommend) and i came to the realization that a lot of people who read fic and thus follow the sub don't... participate in fandom? like at all? like they read ao3 and that's it

I'm getting out my "gaming laptop" to watch the election returns because my normal laptop doesn't have enough resources to view the webpages with all my other important work going on simultaneously.

EPA has removed webpages with research on fracking's impacts on drinking water. The removals occur as the Trump administration increases oil, gas, and mineral extraction on federal lands while weakening opportunities for public input.

Thinking about how fast the company I worked for changed their DEI webpages to "Culture and Belonging"
how long before the tech companies quietly change their maps back

Like look for a recipe. the first 3 links will all be different slop pages with the exact same recipe ingredients.

Using the internet just costs us more and more of our time as we search for real, actual, webpages.

I’ll tell you one thing I’ve been excited about.

Building assignments as webpages that are dynamic, thanks to Claude.

I’ve done a couple of these, and I really like how they’ve turned out.

Fellow #tcest writers:
You may want to check out a new domain called AO3.life that is creating audio versions of our fics- for a fee.

Supposedly writers can collect some of the revenue, but most devices have accessibility options to read aloud webpages for free so this just feels like a scam to me.

Our analysis suggests that some of these businesses may be using search engine optimization techniques that lead them to appear in chatbot responses. The referenced webpages often took the form of FAQs or listicles answering common questions about stem cell treatments - including by the ABA clinics.

It's not just webpages tho. Like, that thing used to run Minecraft perfectly fine back in 2011, but it can barely boot newer versions.
