A huge Goat Moth caterpillar (I believe) at WWT Welney today. Never seen one before, very impressive!
This buzzard sat no more than six metres from us for more than five minutes whilst we watched it from the stationary car on the way to WWT Welney yesterday. A great bird, happily hunting for worms on the bank behind it.

Ten Bewick's Swans at Welney WWT this afternoon, bringing the day total to 91 Bewick's Swans in the Norfolk fens between Feltwell and Welney. Most remarkable sighting of the day was a Jack Snipe on Station Road as we left Welney in the dark!

Checked the fields around Welney this morning and found 99 Bewick's amongst the Whooper Swans (all Norfolk). The mist set in at Welney at lunchtime so we gave up there - 9 Cattle Egret on view from the cafe, 2 Chiffchaff, 2 Barnacle Geese the best in poor viewing conditions #Norfolkbirding
