Tomorrow, Ms Reeves is expected to announce that money has now been found so mayoral combined authorities can have the CRSTS cash they were originally promised, which will go on schemes like West Yorkshire mass transit

Yorkshire Water customers are angry, and rightly so. They’ve seen bills rise, rivers polluted, and trust in the company all but vanish. We’ve been clear today that enough is enough. People deserve a water company that is open, accountable, and focused on delivering clean water and healthy rivers - not secret pay deals and excuses. This isn’t a one-off conversation, we’ll be holding Yorkshire Water to account over the months ahead to make sure they deliver on their promises - and if they don’t, we’ll be back at the table demanding answers.

"Violence against women and girls is endemic in our society. Sexual exploitation and abuse is a horrific crime. Predators who groom children must be stopped and brought to justice. "I welcome the Home Secretary's announcement today that she will change the law to avoid punishing the victims of these crimes while making sure perpetrators pay. “Here in West Yorkshire our actions are led by the victims and survivors. This has led to 210 perpetrators sentenced to more than 2,300 years over the past decade, with more to come. "We welcome Baroness Casey’s tireless work on this issue. We are already reaching out to victims to ensure their voices are heard by the inquiry. This must be done swiftly to ensure the perpetrators pay for these disgusting crimes. “We will not be deterred from our mission to eliminate misogyny and violence against women and girls.” Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire

West Yorkshire’s Weaver Network moves ahead with £40m for tram plans and bus franchising. Aiming for seamless travel, the scheme links trams, buses, trains and active travel routes, with major rollout phased in from 2027.

Last night we awarded nearly £390k to groups working to make West Yorkshire safer.

Since 2021, over £4.4m has gone to 460 local projects funded by cash & assets recovered by @westyorkspolice.bsky.social
