The biggest issue with the loco is it's missing one set of wheels on the front bogie. Initial Ebay searches shows no one selling a spare wheelset nor full bogie. Fortunately many companies have made a Royal Scot so it shouldn't be too hard to source another bogie or wheelset.

I have to do so much bike wheel work and I know once I start it I'm just gonna be sitting at a truing stand for 6h. True gravel bike wheelset, build a front wheel for the fixed gear, fix the wheel damage from my crash, true wife's commuter wheelset, maybe some more stuff I'm forgetting.

Sold my tubular wheelset today. 👋 I gave it the best shot I could. Did some local CX TTs. Showed up for Hotlaps. Did some interval and sprint workouts. Heart isn’t into racing cyclocross. Will it come back. I dunno. Oddly, I still enjoy the workouts and am kind of relived with this conclusion. 😮💨

Bogie wheelset checks (and changes) have been completed on the ‘Barns’ set to avoid a recurrence of the short circuit issues on the final day of @modelrailscotland.bsky.social - time for some test runs.

I’m planning on keeping the stock 650b wheelset and fitting them with winter tires (same drivetrain and brake components makes the two sets modular). And of course I still have bags and racks to scale up to a full bikepacking loadout—I just don’t plan on keeping that stuff on all the time

I’ve ridden bikes with Nuvinci’s manual CVT and even their eCVT (automatic!) and the latter is pretty weird, but not in a bad way. This could be pretty similar I suppose. I also have tried and failed to sell my own Nuvinci wheelset despite excellent marketing.

didn't even bother going to the trails today but I DID swap over a full left-hand drive setup onto the ol' BMX bike just so I could run a better wheelset (and stop grinding on my chain the rare times I ride street/park)

I'm contemplating what I need to buy to build up my Rivendell road frame and I have so many boxes of bike parts that I think the answer is literally One Tire.
Actually if I wanted to be extra stingy I could steal that one tire from another wheelset I took off of a bike I dismantled.
