Bruiser, the elk who lived here on Whidbey for many years, passed away recently. I've been so sad about it, he was the only elk on the island and he maybe had a peaceful death, but he was alone.. 😢

Fuckin loved whidbey. Literally the entire island was perfect for bicycles, and you could go bike-bus-ferry-train in a super convenient series of hops all the way to downtown Seattle

We made sure he was kept safe and as happy as he could be, Whidbey was probably the best place for him, not as much traffic, and the people are usually a lot calmer than like mainland Washington.

I consider ALL of Whidbey Island to be my home and I didn't really leave home, I just moved to the house I was meant to be in to rediscover my true abilities and completely change the entire idea of who Joel Hagen is. I never left my home, I just got to where I was supposed to be.

When I was on Whidbey Island, the free public transit was a lifesaver because I got really really sick and only had to wait like ten minutes at a bus stop before throwing my bike on the rack and getting dropped at a stop in front of where I was staying.
