Cold, Icy, Off-Brand Milo

A heavy, large, hand-blown glass tumbler with a blue rim is on a kitchen bench. It contains a pale brown liquid - fresh cold milk mixed with Aldi's imitation of Milo chocolate drink powder. At the top are ice cubes, and a thin crust of undissolved powder.

A pasty is a sort of pie containing cheap meat, carrots, potato and swede (rutabaga). It is a traditional food of tin and copper miners in Cornwall, and has spread to places Cornish miners emigrated to, such as South Australia and Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
