[Today In History]
In the 1640's the Dutch inhabitants of New Amsterdam buitt a 12 foot wall to keep the “bad people” out.
In 1664 the British ignored the wall and took New Amsterdam by sea.
It's now called New York.
They took down the wall and built a street, which is now called Wall Street.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:q7d55qtfcebl7a4te4qup4wa/bafkreif742ohvcjtzbuoowgy32fqxfe6yj7o5mwlwtbdanpkirrpmrimmq)
