The final entry in this juvenilia suite is one whose production I like. I used Metasynth grain synthesis on the vocal part panned right. The verses are wholetone and the chorus is in 7/8. Originally a piano piece, an acoustic version on Infinitesimal.

Ofcourse you play them as 24th fret on A and 22nd on D.

If you have a legacy guitar with not enough frets, you can play both at 22nd and bend up the first one by a wholetone. 😛

that's the reason I HAVE NEVER SEEN THESE SCALES ANYWHERE WITH EXCEPTION OF THE EVEN WHOLETONE SCALE AND THE UNEVEN ONE SINCE IT'S JUST THE THREE 2 CYCLES UNITED (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11). These are of course known self dual scales as the chromatic 12 tone one. Wholetone scales already sound very odd.

it means that self-dual scales are 'very non natural' in the sense they are not just the first seven fifths heaped onto each other as in the diatonic case. In modal jazz they would be 'very far away' from what one would choose as chromatic notes in a 'good improvisation'. SO BAD IMPROVISATION.

although the scales differ on at least two positions each, they sound MORE SIMILAR THAN THE NON SELF DUAL SCALE I USED COMPARED TO ANY OF THEM: WHY IS THAT SO? ALL SELF-DUAL SCALES SOUND DRAMATICALLY SIMILAR. The definition is just that x->7*x mod 12 leaves the scale invariant.

Photo of a triola, it's a vaguely rectangular orange plastic brick with a brown mouthpiece and 12 vividly coloured plastic buttons. Every 7th button has the same colour, which doesn't make sense in any human scale except wholetone, but giving kids wholetone scale wind instruments is against the Geneva concention.

While a few companies sold these pianos, they never became popular.

A company called WholeTone made an electronic remake around 2000s, which unfortunately also failed.
