Strips of lovely lichen covered larch down through the middle of the #NephinForest. Although there are many negative impacts of monoculture conifers, I think the lads who planted this in the 1960s had admirable imagination @c_guilfoyle1 @HeatherLally @TheConorGraham @WildNephin

Smoke rising from a wildfire at @WildNephin National Park in County Mayo was visible from space when the Copernicus Sentinel-2 passed over Ireland on Monday. The large fire has resulted in the closure of popular walking trail, which has been significantly damaged.
