Turns out that in addition to the first two Pilot Brothers games ScummVM now also supports a handful of other games developed by Russian company "Gamos", ones that aren't adventures. Such as the Windows 9x port of WildSnake!

GUEST ARTWORK: "April Lowry Holding Snakes" (drawn by @jimenopolix.bsky.social)

I don't think I've commissioned April Lowry for an artwork before this, but I knew Cesar was up to the task. And boy howdy, did he deliver in capturing the mephitine Scot at her most insane.

If I'm serious about this (and I'm not) I think I'd construct a very particular definition of Tetris based on "fill a row" clear criteria. So Hot Wax no, that's in the Bombliss/WildSnake category. Turbo fat, no. But Tetrachroma, yes! Squishy/"Not" Tetris… uhh, not sure, this challenges my criteria

okay, i like to do a meme.

Suddenly flashbacks of playing "WildSnake" on SNES as a kid.

If you think that's intense, this is the start screen of the original Russian PC release, titled Zmeelov. It launched in 1992, just months after the dissolving of the USSR. Perestroika!

He certainly did. Spectrum Holobyte released a bunch of Tetris stuff, so they just loved putting his face on their other stuff too, whether or not he had anything to do with it. They probably just came up to his house with one of those cartoony brown bags of money with a dollar sign on it 💰

"Margo Doesn't Fancy the Fancy"

Y'know, I don't think I've drawn Margo in a formal dress since I gave her glasses. Most I've done with her and formal wear is put her in a tux for the WildSnake video.

Let me change that. 😈 #OTOG #MargoHynde #Art

Barring any copyright bullshit, the next video should (finally!) be up tomorrow at 3PM EST. The runtime on this one is 24 minutes, 50 seconds, 29/30 frames.

It played dead, but it never bled. Instead WildSnake lay still in the SNES library, all boxed up and waiting to become an Arcade-ological Discovery.

Premiering today at 3PM EST, copyright bots permitting! Runtime: 24 minutes, 50 seconds. www.youtube.com/watch?v=q20e...
