Depends. Some (prickly pear, agave) tolerate frost but not the wetness, they go in the garden arbour.
Most like it cold but not freezing, they stay in the staircase.
Some are wintergrowing (aloe, mesembs., tropical cacti) or at least tolerate warmth. For those I added 2 shelf bords to each window 😅
