I feel like China is still all in on anti gravity wirefu, every where else kinda took their inspiration from Thailands real fight and then Indonesias martial arts slashers but China is still putting out wire fu wui xia stuff like blades of the guardian or sakra

Their standards for "stunts" is Koichi Sakamoto's shakycam and wirefu. Toei barely bothered with any decent stuntwork for all of 2010s (best was probably Wizard and that still had buttload of ugly CGI), so simping for VFX slop is a natural progression.

Unity of Heroes had a very 00's feel. It had a lot of obivous wirefu that you saw in a lot of 00's Wuxia films, but Warriors of Nation had some pretty decent fight scenes. It was directed by Marco Mak, while mostly directed cheap shit, he was Tsui Hark editor and edited every Once Upon A Time film.

I think you make most air bending self focused instead of WIND BLAST and you can work it, especially for the early parts where Aang is barely trained. Some combination of gracefully flowing around the fight + wirefu + hopping around like a rabbit on pcp depending.

LMAO Hollywood really sucked at Wirefu outside of The Matrix, huh. I remember thinking this movie rocked when I was...whew...23 years old. Chow Yun Fat is very charming in this but it's not enough to make this movie good.
