Reminder; For Commander "Outside of the game" isn't actually a thing that works unless you Rule 0'd a Wishboard/Sideboard with your playgroup.

also been thinking about how the judge who gave me a game loss was DQ'd from a local event for being found to have a 20-plus card Karn wishboard during a deck check 👍🏻
been thinking about multiple judges at the Spotlight this weekend are members of teams who Monetize Content based on the success of their members. Not a good look imo 👍🏻

What's the worst thing to happen if commander gets a wishboard of say, 10 cards?

it's like utter whiplash to my tastes to go from the neato joy of "a five colour legendary that represents all four of them" to "Fact or Fiction Legendary Wishboard that seems mechanically tiring to deal with" lol

A lot of them just use him as a wishboard. It's crazy.

I feel similar about folks that want to run a wishboard in commander

For my final draft of the day (and potentially the weekend, based on how the snow is looking), I drafted a very historied power cube. Emissary's Ploy is set to 2-drops, Black Lotus and Mana Vault are fast mana, and I have a whole wishboard package for Karn

6-0-2 to split top 4 in today's SCG Cincy Modern 1k w/ Izzet Prowess ft. Academic Dispute. The Lesson wishboard is a ton of fun and there's a 0% chance I beat Domain Zoo 3x without. Leyline was put into play literally 10 times against me today 🤣🤣
Here's hoping I can take this momentum into the RC!

Well, you only get 2, chosen by an opponent. But yeah it's good on its own, and doesn't need a wishboard.

Okay but what about Hybrid Mana Planeswalkers being legal commanders but in those decks Sol Ring is banned (unless it's in your wishboard, then its okay).

Wishes and the like should be legal but only if they work as written and refer to your entire collection and not just a custom wishboard.

Got to draft @goblingathering.bsky.social's Arcane Lessons last night! It's not about the record (0-3), but the Lessons you learn along the way.
Sick cube where instance & sorceries are also Arcane Lessons! Tons of cards get to shine and you have great wishboard access with the Learn mechanic!

Make sure you also include a wishboard consisting of only Expanded Anatomy.

4-1 in today's video with Eldrazi Tron! Tested a few cards from EoE today. Extinguisher Battleship is a great addition to the wishboard. However, I'm unsure about Vestige. Check the replies for my Discord, Patreon, YouTube, and deck resources! #MagicTheGathering #mtg #mtgModern

It’s fun to look into another complex, long running TCG and see how they’re exploring design space. Having gone deep on wishboard DFCs, they have a lot of fertile ground to play in. I love having three spells tied to the character to get their personality and style conveyed.
