Found a wishing stone in my yard this weekend, which was a nice surprise. The stripe goes all around. Perfect for my upcoming trip - coming home is always the goal. #Wishingstone #localmagic #witchsky

I saw it, picked it up, traced around the white circle, made a wish, threw it into the ocean.

And here it is after processing. It started with a bunch of mineral deposits, so I removed it with a vinegar bath and mechanical cleaning, then washed again and oiled. What are wishing stones? 🧵👇🏼

If you make a wish for yourself, it is said to come true by believers. However, if you make a wish for someone else, it is believed that wish will come true along with all of your own wishes.🪄

Legend holds that whoever possesses the stone can make wishes on it indefinitely, so long as the stone is not broken. Some say you can trace your finger along the stripe, close your eyes and make a wish. 🧵👇🏼

Wishing stones are stones with a naturally occurring, unbroken quartz line that goes all the way around the stone. There may be other lines and inclusions, but to qualify as a wishing stone there needs to be a dominant unbroken line around the circumference🧵👇🏼

I came upon this little rock on my daily walk. I did not remove the rock and left it in its place. The next day, I looked for it on my walk and it was gone.

I wonder what “Alyssa’s last wish” was?
