For a while, Caleb wore his hair loose to hide his ears. Not because he was afraid of what the witches would do to him if they discovered he was human, but because he wasn't keen on the idea of ​​them staring at him curiously or trying to pull his ears to check if they really were round. A little Headcanon: neither Luz nor Philip could recreate the Portal because Caleb took a crucial ingredient for its operation to his grave. Caleb reasoned that for the Portal to connect with the Human Realm, he had to add something that originated there to the process.
