@wmata I’m on a redline train towards shady grove and all the signs / voice announcements are several stops ahead of where we actually are . I think it’s car 7431

FWIW some agencies like WMATA are moving to 5 second R-GTFS pings which I reckon should help out with this a lot

Escalator work at Dupont - a series of huge chains, basically big bike chains, move the escalator. We rely on @wmata.com for horizontal transportation, but w/o these vertical elements Metrorail would be not much use. They require specialized workforce to maintain that starts w apprenticeship.

Starting Nov. 2., Bus Bays H and G at Takoma Station will be temporarily closed for WMATA bus shelter replacement work. Ride On Routes 12 and 13 will use temporary Bay T1. Ride On Routes 14 and 24 will use Bay C.

I don't own a car so paying for parking isn't really an issue, but I'd agree that it should simply accept Google Wallet / Apple Pay like the WMATA turnstiles do!

The DC area WMATA and the Seattle area Sound Transit showed some great recovery even as of Feb 2025 thanks to the already ongoing transit expansion projects that completed during the post-Covid era, plus a funding boost from the Biden admin., which was put to great use in DC (extending trains).
