They elope in less than three hours.

It was Mata’s duty by heart to protect and no matter how painful it will be for her to witness by hand, she must help him.

#wolstinienweek2026 #wolstinienweek #Estimata #Matastinien #Wolstinien #Negistinien
Mata in Dragoon armor facing a transformed possessed Estinien The scale of difference is tremendously huge The Battle with "two Azure Dragoons" Mata didn’t want to hurt Estinien even if he was being a pain in the arse, she had thought as she fought Estinien possessed by the power of Nidhogg’s eyes at the Steps of Faith. Mata didn’t want to see more people attacked by raging draconian hordes, either. Mata didn’t want to be also a dragoon, ironically entering Ishgard for how she mentally can’t keep it together while fighting a horde by Camp Dragonhead, falling into Witchdrop influencing her , and somehow miraculously waking up just “fine” in the Camp’s infirmary. But overall, Mata didn’t want to go back on her word of following her own path for adventure instead of taking the position as head matriarch of her clan and business. Mata had chosen this path herself even with fears and regrets. Proving herself that she can handle it on the condition that most of her earnings went towards paying off her family’s debt. Mata thought again as she forced herself in the Dragoon armor she had almost discarded- tight as it be on her bound large chest that almost prevented her from breathing right. She isn’t generally confident to bind herself in such spiky, yet elegant armor- however she overall didn’t want to let down the family she found and tried to keep together. Her family now consisted of: Tataru, Alphinauld, Edmont, Emmanellain, Artoirel, Alberic…. Haurchefant… Ysayle… and Estinien. ‘Yes, Estinien, I didn’t like you for being uptight at first,’ Mata closed her eyes for a brief moment while dodging possessed Estinien’s humongous spear, ‘but really, on our journey to Zenith- you did come out me to say the kindest words that I’ve ever heard.. That I was not a weapon of mass destruction or a monster, but just a person, an individual. And your actions… although it pisses me off sometimes as your party’s White Mage, you do play well as an elder sibling role in my ‘family’.” Tears build up within the back of her eyes, Mata holds it back with a wavering smile- SHE HAS TO STAY STRONG. Mata hated that Estinien would let hims…

Day 4: Faith | Fury
[Post Endwalker]
Mata takes Estinien to Omphalos, to meet The Lover and The Fury, literally in person.
#wolstinienweek2026 #wolstinienweek #Estimata #Matastinien #Wolstinien #Negistinien
Mata and Estinien visit their Goddesses of the Twelve When Estinien proposed they go on a date as an engaged couple and asked Mata where she would like to go, Mata had several places in mind. She knew Estinien had prayed to the Fury before in her memories in Ishgard during their time of the Dragonsong War. Mata also had researched ahead of time on the process of their Bonding Ceremony, which involved them both visiting the glyphs of the Twelve in person as a journey. She shook her head to not do that just yet, but do something better as she was lucky to have access to! Later on a partially cloudy, but fine day in Mor Dhona , Mata met up with Estinien and guided him to the lakeside’s shore. Estinien was curious about where his partner took him. He tilted his head, looking confused. “Aye, Mata, this is Silvertear I take it right? We have been here before.” “Mhm! This was the place that I personally confessed to you my love after I came back from the First. This is a special place for me!” The 149 cm tall gray blonde miqo’te woman clad in a pinkish outfit spun and laughed as she took her dear 192cm Elezen fiance’s hand leading to an oddly placed cloud of a portal? “And to make it more special, I want to show you a neat place beyond this lake! LET’S GO ESTINYAN! WAHOOO!!” Mata led her partner into the auspicious cloud, leaving Estinien no time to react or respond with a subtle growing blush on his ears and cheeks. “AYE- HOLD A MINUT- MATA?! WHAT IS HAPPENING?” In an instant, Mata and Estinien entered Omphalos. Mata wiggling her ears and tail in the air with warm welcome while Estinien stood aback and shocked to be in a completely place than he never seen before. “Welcome to Omphalos, Estinien!” Mata threw her arms in the air and Estinien was slightly vexed though this isn’t the first time Mata would do this sort of thing. He scratched his head, “By the Fury, Omphalos? Can you eat that?” A voice rang, loud and proud in front of the couple, “The Fury? You called? Yes, as I am the Fury! Aye, Mata! Welcome back fellow warrior!… Estinien, taken aback in a flushed face again breathing in the moment to regain composure before his and Mata’s goddesses of the Twelve that they were VERY REAL in person, which then he bowed with greeting, “Aye, hello. I am Estinien Varlineau. Would you like to challenge a spar-?” “ESTINIEN, HOLD THAT THOUGHT-” Estinien almost drew out his lance, and then sheathing it back as Mata lightly bonked his head with her Ingrimm staff as she sighed in the payback of the silly chaos that she got them into. “Now, now- this isn’t the time to spar yet, Estinyan. Only if Halone permits so.” Mephina wiggled in the humoring sight and Halone full-heartedly laughed, “Ah, ye- it’s been a bit of a bore as of late and I do not mind your visit, Mata and Estinien. As a treat, we will humbly give all of your blessings. You are our children after all.” With that saying, Mata and Estinien looked at each other in absolute joy as their date resulted in BIG GODLY SUCCESS!

Estinien and Mata encounter her father’s spirit in the Aitiascope, leading to an emotional reunion.

N'geh (Neh-geeh like Negi), a tall miqote lancer hugging his crying daughter, Negimata while Estinien stands by to not interfere Estinien stands by in an at-ease stance while watching Mata get comfort from her long-dead father The Final Days were upon them, and the Scions made a great deal of a bargain with the Forum. A great one, in fact, as this quest dealing with the Final Days was to find answers about and possibly directly from the Mothercrystal herself, Hydaelyn. Down into the Aitiascope, the Scions go into an utmost, absolutely unknown territory below Labyrinthos and what answers they shall find to save the world? Or something else entirely for themselves? Who knows? Well then for our heroine, our Warrior of Light, Negimata Haloxicon, our Mata, actually did find one answer to a question that ate away her heart from long ago as a child. She encountered her father, N’geh, in the Aitiascope. Mata, known to be the mighty, cheerful and fearless heroine amongst the talk of many she helped and defended, stood in shock as waterfalls of tears and sobs bawled and rang out. The Scions were taken aback as this was a very rare side of Mata they had never seen before, but to Estinien- remaining close to Mata, observing her mental state was already barely holding on way before they descent, knew Mata would likely break without his presence. Mata exclaimed and cried, “N’geh?! Papa N’geh, y-your here?! Papa, I thought you abandoned us all at home. W-why are you here? Mama, has been sick since you’ve left with debt. I-I had to pay it all back or else- I-I.… I’m so scared. I’ve missed you, Papa!! Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!! Wahh, I-...” Mata sniffed and teary eyed looking up and down at her father, a proudly smiling, standing tall and tanned white furred bandana wearing Sun Seeker miqo’te male lancer. This was the same N’geh, who left off for an expedition and never came back when Mata was a wee 10 winters old. He oddly gave off similar vibes in posture and aloof, yet caring eyes very like Estinien, who stood several feet away opposite of him. “I’m sorry, my dear princess Negimata. I’m sorry I-I’ve left you all to deal with that. Oh my dear, It’s okay- I’m here. Please calm down.” N’geh chuckled softly and ben… “Papa, I knew deep down, you weren’t with us anymore. Seeing you here gave m-myself relief and I’m happy. I’m also sad to have you finally meet me again and with company, no- a found family after I had felt so lonely. Papa… Papa, I am the Warrior of Light and I have a duty, which right now, feels too much to carry a burden alone, but- that feels lesser now in the moment. I'm no longer in debt nor the Haloxicon clan are suffering either, as we’ve got help now.” Gesturing a show right to her side, Mata smiled happily. “Papa, this Elezen man, here is Estinien Varlineau. He is my most dearest friend and the most important member in my family. Look at him, he’s so cool! His lancework was just as cool as yours back then! Hehe!” Estinien’s slate blues eyed her brave enthusiasm and blushed in embarrassment. It was one of Mata’s uplifting cheers as he always finds her words and actions to be very endearing to continuously melt and soothe the chaotic depths of his troubled heart. N’geh blinked to take in Mata’s confession and introduction to Estinien, and then he chuckled for a few minutes with tears in the corner of his golden eyes. “Hahaha, that’s my Mata. I’ve a feeling you have worked hard to get here and find someone as cool as your Papa! Estinien Varlineau, right? I recalled that your family raised Karakul a long while back. Mata loves Karakul! They are her favorite!” N'geh, like his daughter Mata, gladly approached Estinien with his left hand for a handshake. Estinien, although slightly unaccustomed with N’geh’s jolly smile- though it felt similar whenever Mata warmly greeted the party in welcome, shook firmly in handshake with Mata’s father. He smiled a bit awkwardly, but gave into warmth. “Aye, it is nice to meet you though this is odd. Ah yes, I also am aware that Mata definitely has a liking for them.” “Haha yes! Oh! Ye got a good grip, my Boy!” N’geh laughed hard and patted Estinien’s padded yet spiky shoulder pauldron. Estinien flushed and thanked him, “Thank you…

Mata, Orn Khai, and Estinien staying by a campfire on Azim Steppe Mata takes a good look at Estinien's new armor and its scales Estinien "trying" to hide his flushed face away from Mata and Orn Khai Sitting by a campfire for warmth on a starry night shining on Azim Steppe, Mata finds herself staring at her fellow Dragoon, Estinien Wyrmblood. Mata has had time to spare in her duties as the Warrior of Light, helping out Orn Khai by a deep feeling in her gut and was surprised by finally meeting with Estinien after so long. Possibly fate did this? Perhaps. She had sensed his presence at the Peaks awhile back, notably for his power. She could tell the destruction of Castrum Abania’s canon was his doing. Just a feeling, as he was watching from afar. Estinien stood in a guarding stance several feet away from Mata by the campfire she made. Mata asks in a timid, yet curious tone, “Estinien, have you been well traveling alone? I wonder, have you ever been to The Peaks in Gyr Abania?” Estinien nodded to her and looked back and forth, “Aye, I have been. A lot of travel and far distance away from Eorzea. Here and there.” It was an awkward distant silence for a moment as it has been awhile since they've talked. “I trust you are doing well with your lance as of late, Mata?” he broke the pause in their chatter. “I’m doing my best to get stronger every day, Estinien. And Alphinauld is doing his best, too. Hehe.” Mata amped up and brightly smiled at him with both her arms to her chest rallying her efforts. “Aye, I’m glad to hear that.” Estinien trails off to the distance and looks out to the almost endless grassy plains as if he’s trying to hide his flushed cheeks. ‘Ahhh, Mata’s being adorable again. I must resist, Estinien. Hold back.’ Cuddling her knees and lifting her head, Mata quietly took a good look at the back of Estinien’s new armor as he turned his back. ‘He doesn’t speak much for small talk, but that’s ok. I see he got new scales. He kinda looks cooler than before. Heh, show off. Ah.. Estinien though you’ve changed, you’re still you being stupid cool- I want to be cool, too. Day 1: Food | Travels

Estinien takes Mata out for their fateful date as he promised.

#wolstinienweek2026 #wolstinienweek #Estimata #Matastinien #Wolstinien #Negistinien
Estinien and Mata sitting at a table enjoying their date It was a chilly, yet perfect evening for a date at Wachunpelo’s Mezcal Distillery. Mata, our busy Warrior of Light, found a window of time to get back to Estinien’s promise of a dinner, by her connections with the Moogle Post Mail service. The former Azure Dragoon was hard to get reach of with the use of a link pearl as he was a man of solo expeditions. Although Mata feels dismay and missing him with his distant expeditions, she understands her dear bonded partner has his own way of doing things as she does her own too at her own pace. And she has grown to love him regardless of the distance. When it comes to sharing a drink and food, Estinien is the one who gladly encourages and proposes the idea with Mata alone. Estinien made special prep ahead of time with the help of the Pelu Pelu, with of course- trade of cooking the meat for the date and giving away any spoils like hide, bones, and etc, which he had gotten back after processing his successful hunt. He even bought enough Mezcal and extra drinks to consume and celebrate Mata, his dear partner, who saved the world again. Mata got so spoiled by Estinien that evening with the meat and mezcal and his stories of charing sabotender over a campfire- she loved the mood and getting a fill of good eats as she also shared her stories with mentoring Wuk Lamat and exploring the world of Tural and beyond. Mata’s cheeks and eyes lit up with a smile by every sip and gulp and chew from the feast Estinien provided. He enjoyed her presence whenever it’s just them two and his heart warms by her enthusiasm for food. She always has been like that and he loves that about her. It is always moments like this around food, Estinien looks forward to with Mata.
