Observing an unbothered woodpidgeon collecting twigs. He'll pick one up and fling it away if it's not up to standards.

Happy Tuesday! Today's bird is a Wood Pigeon. I heard one on my walk the other day. Such a lovely sound 💕🪶 I hope you are having a great week! #bainbridgeislandbirds #pacificnorthwestbirds #birdart #woodpidgeon Thank you for all the likes on my Purple Martin! 💜💜

It turns out there was a sparrowhawk eating a woodpidgeon behind a bush the whole time which explains the complete lack of birds visible the whole time. Tempted to submit 1 sparrowhawk and 1/2 a woodpidgeon as my completed bird watch report.

The face of a kitten who dragged a fully-grown woodpidgeon, missing its head, through the cat flap and left it at the bottom of the stairs.

Fun fact, for my job I often need to write 'Woodpigeon'.
I still can't spell it right. Wood Pigeon, Wood Pidgeon, Woodpidgeon, Pidgoen, Pidjoen, you name it...

So I have a document with the correct spelling written and copy/paste the word everytime I need in a report or mapping.

Ce sera donc P pour Pigeon ramier! (au moins c'est la même lettre qu'en anglais)

Omg what I thought was a woodpidgeon fledgling in the garden was in fact a bloody Nightjar! That’s got to be a 50 pointer in the I-Spy book of birds.

Pardonnez la qualité, j'ai pris la photo à travers la moustiquaire (entre me faire dévorer par les moustiques et prendre une belle photo, j'ai choisi ne ne pas me faire dévorer), mais admirez cet ENORME POULET.

I definitely read that as the band Woodpidgeon and my first thought was “listening to Woodpidgeon first thing in the morning sounds kinda nice actually”

Our Met. office reckons that rain'll pass in a bit so maybe don't write the day off yet, maybe. Hope you find something interesting to do.
Cat got a woodpidgeon yesterday evening, feathers now all over the place. What a mess.
To the garden centre to buy more fat balls.

I can hear tons of birds close by but the only one I’ve seen in the garden today is a woodpidgeon. I reckon they can see me and are coming in when I turn my back.

cursing not owning binoculars - a strange bird that looked like a small osprey landed on the beech tree on the other side of the road but by the time I'd gone out there it had gone. It had pale grey wings & white belly with long-ish legs & shaggy leg feathers & bigger than a woodpidgeon. any ideas?!

Good morning ☕. Glad you recovered in time for your irl socials.
A bit grey out there. At least one blue tit has fledged and is noisy in the lilac tree. A cat has already tried for an early woodpidgeon, failed.
No plans.

The Woodie in question.
Vet1 was positive that she'll make it. I realized I don't know what I'm putting on antiseptic lotion...

It's very diffrent from occasional wild pidgeon aka woodpidgeon here. They ARE domesticated, even if born on the street and feral.
Some will stay feral forever and need their free flock, others became someone's home flock companions.

They are so sweet

My vet called me yesterday evening,if I am able to take this little one in thatbwas bought to them. They are not bird experienced so actually only had the option to euthanize if noone can take it in. So I rushed over. It will go to a medically pidgeon apt place this evening before going to a rehabber
