A hand-woven Navajo rug draped above the door of the Frank Phillips’ Woolaroc Ranch Lodge near Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Natives called it the "Whirling Log." In 1940, an intertribal agreement signed by the chiefs of the Navajo, Hopi, Apache, and Tohono O'odham tribes banned its usage in future art.

I 100% want a wealth tax. There’s this quote on a plaque here at a natural wildlife preserve called Woolaroc where someone said something to the effect, “if you’re rich, it’s your moral obligation to give back and make the world better…” (hence: Woolaroc exists).

Connie and I took the day off yesterday, went to Weeze's Cafe for breakfast, Spanish language mass at the Catholic Church, she's cradle Catholic, I'm agnostic atheist (after being Catholic for 25 years), went to Woolaroc but $19 each, we changed, went to Tulsa, arrived too late for Philbrook Museum.

this is a piece of native art hundreds of years old, it's smooth reddish brown clay and the details look rough and rudimentary, as one would suspect. it's a figure of a person crouched over and shoving something large and cylindrical into their mouth

Blue Lizard sees an ornate rodeo saddle covered in metalwork and tassels. Every leather surface except the center of the seat is made from heavily tooled leather.
