Gravity! 🌳🍎
for #ForestFriday

Am stretching the 'forest' definition here enormously but see alt text before judging me please!

Photograph taken of 'the' gravity tree which Isaac Newton could see from his window, which inspired his theory of gravity. It isn’t a forest but I need to get some more forest photographs, AND there are lots of trees in the photograph. Am digging a hole I know, but this is an impressive not-forest tree! His birthplace is called Woolsthorpe Manor and is well worth a visit. The day I went was beyond hot so the sky looked bleached. I was a few days post unexpected surgery but didn't want to miss my mini break so withered somewhat in the heat. Yes, I know not sensible. I am an idiot. Fabulous part of the world though! A huge apple tree surrounded by a low, woven, wicker circle to keep visitors from getting underneath. Other trees behind this one and pale grass on the ground. A small oval, slate plaque in front of the wicker skirt asks visitors not to pick the apples.

Sunrise in the Furthest West and evening sunshine in the Furthest East, via an inspirational apple tree.

Went to see the apple tree that inspired Newton to develop his theory of gravity at Woolsthorpe Manor. Still producing apples (Flower of Kent cookers) all these years later! #gardeningwithjason #woolsthorpemanor #theoryofgravity #isaacnewton #appletrees

Popped into Woolsthorpe Manor ( @manorntwoolsthorpe ) on my way East. Delighted in the famous apple tree and got to ponder with the man himself. It really is a very special place.
