Big thing for me, is Since DS9 intro'd 31, a lot of subsequent writhers have tried to use them as Fed's equiv to the CIA.
I'd argue part of 31's deal is that they'd stayed hidden, not having your Char's discover 31 under every damn rock! DISCO failed at this, completely but its become more common.

Believe me, I'll be writhing in ecstasy as well. We can time our mutual writhing to coincide with the call for the dems. We do know however that *74 million +* people voted for him in 2020, so - performance aside - there's resonance with the performers out there and support for the writhers.
