I would avoid them if I could but I need to be able to run WS2012/W8 and older VMs (productively, with clipboard sharing functional) for backward compatibility testing 😭.

I use Hyper-V for WS2012R2/W8.1 and newer VMs, which, thankfully, is most of my usage.
