⛰️ After the summer school, Anna, Esmé, and Eilidh joined a group trip to the Wudang mountains. Hosted by the Wudangshan Daoist Association and led by Dr Xuelin Deng, they learned about Daoist practice and visited several Daoist temples, including the Golden Palace and the Purple Cloud Temple. the Ming emperor provided lavish funding for the construction and renovation on top of Wudang, and gave the mountain an appellation, 太岳, Exalted Marchmount, signifying the status of Wudangshan was higher even than the Five Sacred Peaks, the 五岳。

It ended up 19:30 and I almost missed the flight. Nothing was visible on the screens in the lounge and with headphones I didn't hear any announcements. Thankfully staff found me. Off to Wudangshan I go.

1. The form I study is called Wudangshan 108. Wudang Mountain is the purported birthplace of Wudangquan, Chinese internal martial arts like taijiquan. There are 108 postures in the form. Except there are really 152, but since 108 is a lucky number, various postures are grouped together to reach 108.

Please stop with the "we can't do that here" NIMBY mantra.
The Rockies aren't the Catskills, the Appalachians aren't the Alps. Wudangshan is not Huangshan and the Blue Mountains aren't the Green Mountains. What works in the Ozark Mountains will not work in the Cascades. Each place has it's own.
