I do think they live up to their name...

Due to their similar appearance, habitat and behaviour, the wunderpus (Wunderpus photogenicus) is often confused with the mimic octopus (Thaumoctopus mimicus). Because of this, the wunderpus wasn't described until 2006.

The Wunderpus (Wunderpus photogenicus), as its flattering name suggests, is an incredibly popular subject for underwater photography.

With their lanky limbs and stripes, they look very similar to the mimic octopus. Both species have a similar range and mimic other animals.
