Only a few hundred milliseconds of non-responsiveness is enough for an app to feel frustratingly slow.

If you're curious, this is just one of the principles Apple presented in "Designing Fluid Interfaces" from WWDC 2018.

This year was my 9th time at #WWDC 😱

It's even crazier if you break down the occasions:

🧊 2 x Apple Design Award winner (2015, 2025)
⭐️ 2 x Apple Design Award finalist (2022, 2023)
🎓 3 x Scholarship winner (2017, 2018, 2019)
😎 2 x Regular attendee (2024, 2026)

🤞 to get my tenth badge next year! 🥳

A classic that still hits: developer.apple.com/videos/play... — sharp, practical wisdom that’s aged well and still feels relevant when you’re designing apps.

Apple’s Developer videos are basically a treasure vault—deep dives, best practices, and real techniques straight from the source.

First thoughts on @Apple HomePods: setup was crazy easy and impressive! Sound quality is very good too. But Siri is annoyingly unintelligent and can't do half the things it can on iPhone... Hoping for some big improvements coming at #WWDC18

On the Friday before #WWDC18, I blogged…
“What if Apple created a very small single-core ‘neural processing unit’ – the N1 NPU? It would make simpler for developers to add modern features to their products and services.”

At WWDC 2017 Apple introduced video-related technologies to macOS that don’t have analogues in Windows and Linux. If they do more next week at WWDC18, what does that mean for cross-platform post tools? macOS-only features? #postchat
