When it comes times for next week's Top 10 or even 5 lists for the Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, MSX series, Amiga, and Sharp X86000, I'll be shocked if I get more than 20 entries. Hell, I barely know what released on these old PCs beyond the franchise hits like Castlevania and Metal Gear.

alianger has another entry in their blog series looking at the evolution of video game music and sound design with an essay examining the technological improvement in 1988, especially the X68000 computer in Japan!

I love seeing random stuff like X86000 games, mostly because I didn't know it even existed until a few years ago

I really need to get a Sharp X86000 computer. Guess I'm finally buying one at the end of the year.

I've wanted one for many years, and once I saw it the retro gaming convention last August I really wanted one.

If I remember, it was a Gradius game someone was playing.

I remember hearing that part of why the Mega Drive / Genesis did well in Europe was because the hardware was similar to the Amiga / Sharp x86000 and the familiarity helped with the adoption rate. How true was that?
