I think people are being way too optimistic when it comes to Xboxs plans with Helix and PC. Im willing to bet that you will pay for "PC access" the same way you still have to pay for online with a console. They WILL find a way to monotize you playing PC games. Do not expect a win here.

I would also like to add that folks likely used the internet browsers on their xboxs and PS3s as well. The Xbox literally had a keyboard accessory to make typing easier, and the PS3 could use a keyboard and mouse in some limited ways.

Seems like a lot of people think Xboxs restructuring today will be a good thing games wise (not for the people out of a job). Its hard to tell how things will pan out, but i get the feeling Xbox is going to be more ruthless/ efficient with game dev, and well be seeing more aggressive monetization
