While many of those in the sauna were naked as they day they were born, Estinien wore a towel slung low around his hips -- and with another panicked, aching pang, Xel'ia didn't know whether she was relieved or disappointed. But if it were the latter, the disappointment didn't last for long -- because there was still so much of him to admire. She drank in the sight of him like cool water.

Estinien leaned against the wall, eyes closed and head tipped back to reveal the long column of his throat, his expression unguarded and easy. Xel'ia's eyes roved over him...a little guilty, but in that stolen second her hunger for him far outweighed her guilt.

He was beautiful. A warrior, through and through: his body strong and sun kissed from his recent travels, skin striped with scars both old and new. Her eyes trailed along the corded muscles of his arms, the breadth of his shoulders. The long line of his legs, kicked out before him. The planes of his stomach, the grooves of his hips, and the narrow trail of silvery hair that disappeared beneath the towel wrapped round his waist.

And she was nearly winded with want, and half afraid of just how badly she wanted. Estinien had kissed her the night prior, and he had held her; he had traced lazy, curious paths down her throat with his lips and teeth and drawn the contours of her body with his hands -- hesitantly, but oh, so attentively, like a cartographer charting new land for the first time.

Xel'ia had responded in kind -- but had held herself back. Touching him, but not too much. Reveling his his kisses, but nothing further. Because she wanted him, but fear kept her from taking the tumble into uncharted waters and into something more. More than just comrades, more than just friends. How much of herself could she offer him when duty claimed so much of her already?

As if they hadn't crossed that boundary the moment his lips met hers.

So for a breathless moment, she let herself imagine more. Just for a stolen second. His skin against hers, and those long fingered hands pressing her to him, and all the sweet pleasure that might lay in store for two souls who still so yearned for each other despite the intervening years and distance.

Like that Xelstinien piece took I think 20+ days bc I really only worked on it for 60-90 minutes at a time before work; I think Vanya's tarot card was about the same.

Not that I draw every single morning, though I do most. I usually get more done during the weekends, but nothing after work

Estinien sits cross legged, looking over a frozen lake and mountains, patting Xel'ia's ankle (one of the few parts of her dragoon armor that has no spikes or blades). His face is turned slightly towards Xel'ia, but his expression is unreadable. Xel'ia sits facing him, her arms looped around her knees, looking down at where he touches her, a small smile on her lips -- the only part of her expression that is visible. Behind them stretches a frozen lake, tall pines, and the jagged mountains of Coerthas.
