Throughly impressed with the @modretro.bsky.social #M64! The @hyperkin.bsky.social #CaptainM64 Controller is a great controller to pair with this system!

#xibalba64 feels like a modern take on #Quake but is very capable of standing on its own!

I expected the run-and-gun, typical Boomer Shooter vibe, but Xibalba64 is much more atmospheric.

The story is cryptic as hell, but still manages to be told largely through environmental experiences instead of cutscenes or dialogue.

Not my usual style, but I’m very glad I picked this up!

Releases like Xibalba64, originally a JavaScript game, are exactly what I love about ModRetro’s two platforms. They’re proving time and time again that they’re supporting devs and gamers.

I won’t fuck devs & gamers for taking the opportunities for wider releases bc the 1 billionaire is a shitbag.
