That's a good question! I do think there may be some colorful seas, but Tidal Xythrii are pretty good predators when in the water, too. It's also a way of going: Don't eat me, I'm venomous (which may or may not be true 🤫)

Meet Talsi! They're a Xythrii, but a tidal variation (known for obnoxiously bright coloration and an aquatic lifestyle.) Whereas Arboreal Xythrii lean into Solarpunk technology, Tidal folks are more like mermaids.

Threw together some fits for Satin while on my day off 🦋👽

Her research suit is human made with Xythrii input, whereas her "casual" fit is solely made by human fabricators.
Her final outfit is hand made, and in-line with what the Xythrii people wear.

Playing Planet Crafter made me revisit one of my og species, Xythrii, that happened to be evolutionary "cousins" to the Na'vi but on a smaller, sister moon 🦋
