Yellowroot (Xanthorhiza simplicissima) What a name! This is a deciduous shrub of eastern North America. Yellow roots used for dyes. Mature size around 3’. Grows natively by creeks in dappled sunlight. Spreads by suckers. Provides food for birds and cover/habitat for wildlife.

I've got impacted wisdom teeth on both sides. Had em for years. Can't afford to get them fixed. I've got shattered molars. Exposed nerves. etc.
Nothing for it. Except Yellowroot. Soak it. Scrape the skin off the roots. Pack it around an absess or sore tooth. It'll help.

Here is Xanthorhiza simplicissima [shrub yellowroot]. This subshrub’s (a real thing I just learned about) generic name means yellow (xantho) root (rhiza). It has been used to make yellow dye.

Can you tell I just ordered seeds? Fingers crossed they grow. Takes 3 months of outdoor cold stratification. Likes shade.
