The USG wanted disclosure to proceed on terms it found acceptable & this YF12 story was spooled up to make it seem like the platform was a military option when it clearly never was.

YF12 was a disinfo operation created in a desperate attempt to extend the bubble of secrecy surrounding the A12 & SR71 effort which was perilously close to being exposed.

Going thru the Grusch hearings & attendant hype cycle, I am getting a strong YF12 vibe.
