Okay @blueberrymill.bsky.social Bart became a born again christian at Youth For Christ in 1970 or 1971. He grew up in Kansas mostly, and I can see a 1960s and 1970s Kansas Episcopal Church being pretty conservative. Even if not, YfC was my gateway to fundie evangelicalism too.

This week on the #fredericton #yfc #passivehouse drywall was installed. Next week the mudding and taping (or “crack filling”) will start. Sam the electrician came by and hooked up a few lights.
A view of the future kitchen. The walls and ceiling have drywall sheets screwed to them. There are a few ceiling lights turned on. A picture of the primary bedroom. On the far wall is a large window and there’s a smaller window on the left. The walls and ceiling have drywall, the floor is wood.

The insulators arrived Monday Oct 12 to put the blown-in cellulose insulation into the exterior walls and the attic. The walls were done first and took 206 bags of insulation. After adding the attic insulation, over 300 bags of insulation were used. #yfc #fredericton #passivehouse

The floor is concrete and is covered with scaffolding, lumber, a work light and a microwave. The walls are pink insulation within the cavities created bu the 2x6 wall framing. On Thursday (Oct 22), the windows and doors arrived. Not all were installed before the end of the work week, but the ones that were installed look fantastic.
A corner bedroom without drywall. Pink fiberglass insulation fills the cavities between the wooden framing. The floor is grey concrete and the ceiling is exposed wooden trusses. A woman wearing a purple rain coat and knit toque stands by one of the windows and gazes out. Through the windows, various trees and branches can be seen. A front door that is tan in colour but appears slightly green in the picture. The door has a window in the top 25% and a clear sidelight. The house around the door is covered in blue Siga house wrap. On the ground in front of the door is a load of tongue in groove boards that will be used for the ceiling of the porch.

Today my family visited the Crabbe Mountain ski resort for the Fall Festival of Colours. You walk down one of the ski runs, enjoying the colours of the leaves, then ride a chairlift back up. In the lodge are various local vendors selling crafts. #fredericton #yfc
A picture of people walking down one of the ski runs at the Crabbe Mountain ski resort. The grass is green but the leaves on the trees on either side have started to change to the yellow, orange, and red of fall. The forest of trees extends across the valley in the distance. The sky has some thin, high clouds although some blue sky is visible between the clouds.

A rectangular house with a covered front porch on the right and a three season room attached on the left. The house is wrapped in blue Siga house wrap. The builder had one old role of house wrap so there is a dark blue band amongst the newer light blue wrap. Scaffolding is set up along the nearest corner. The ground around the house is grey crushed rock. In the background are trees with a cloudy sky above. A closeup picture of the new power meter on the house.
