Oh, and speaking of *that* #comet ☄️ strike again - there's hardly a better roundup of current state of knowns and unknowns about the #YoungerDryasImpact hypothesis than this one here by Zach St. George in the @nytimes.com Magazine (yes, that same NYT):

The Comet Strike Theory That Just Won’t Die
Mainstream science has done its best to debunk the notion, but a belief in a world-changing series of prehistoric impacts continues to gain momentum.

Scientists have found evidence for the so-called #YoungerDryasImpact hypothesis that a #comet exploded in Earth’s atmosphere 12,800 years ago, causing temperatures on Earth to dip.

A Comet Exploded Above North America 12,800 Years Ago, Say Scientists
In 12,800 years ago, a comet exploded above North America, causing major climate change and possibly extinction of megafauna.

12,350 BC, Earth was hit by solar storm worse than #CarringtonEvent

Fact - Sun reacts when #Comets pass

What if sun got set off by #YoungerDryasImpact comet?

Maybe we're a bit off on est date of YD Impact

If true, than this could be a good approx time frame

Yes, that #Greenland crater is an *amazing* discovery.

No, it hasn't been dated yet and thus can't be linked to a possible (still unproven) #YoungerDryasImpact event.

And no, there's *no* link to the #GobekliTepe monuments whatsoever.

That #YoungerDryasImpact 'smoking gun', the #Hiawatha impact structure in #Greenland - well, turned out to be slightly older than the formerly proposed 13,000 years.

About 58 Millionen years older …
