A Manitoba high school hockey player implicated in a series of sexualized hazing acts against rookie teammates has lost an appeal of his lengthy suspension from Hockey Canada activities. The youth, who cannot be identified due to age, was suspended for nearly five years after being found responsible for assigning team rookies to perform tasks for older players and participating in physical, psychological, and sexual maltreatment. An independent investigation revealed he spanked rookie players on their buttocks while they lay on a hotel bed during a tournament and purchased a 'sex kit' containing items like a whip/paddle, blindfold, and handcuffs used to assault rookies.
