we are no longer on quarters. [and side note, we work nine-month contracts, we don't "take summers off" like vacation.]
I'm not opposed to year round, but it has a long way to go to iron out issues, and will need more resources. YRO will be very tough for year-long studio and project-based classes.

Parenting is feeling depressed, unable to conjure a happy emotion, and your 2 yro says "Daddy robot, please!" So you sit on the ground and make beeps and boops to the sound of your kid laughing. The sadness still holds, but a small light in the back of your mind says "we're ok"

When I was a child - maybe 7 or 8 yro - I was walking my dog & accidentally let my dog's leash go. This was not my 1st time walking dog around my block. As I was rounding the corner towards my house - cops pulled alongside me asking if it was my dog. Someone called the cops saying I had stole a dog

What I'm reading, the DB lightens the fact that a child was raped. Even if theres a slight chance she was removed at 12 yro. for another reason, authorities do not remove a 12 yro unless the situation is dire and unlivable. This info coming from a Trumpian 🙄

I live in Bend (11 years) with wife (teacher) and 12 yro kid. It's not nearly as rural as you make it sound (in my experience at least). Pretty suburban. Pretty blue here too; some are conservatives and support Trump but not many. That school is near the middle of the city. Just horrible.
