yeah i adore yonemitsu and the PCE version of ys3 is really charming, but falcom were such pc88/98 fiends it makes a lot of sense to play those versions too (which i should really do sometime)

Yes, I know it's from the 90s. Yes, I know Hudson USA/NEC's was hemorrhaging money because the tg16 is a dog in the states, it's just sad to see. Really, if I could, I wish I had the know-how to hack Ys3 PCE with a better dub.

So I played ys3, so far, it's fine. The voices aren't exactly cringefest 1991 feat. Vanilla Ice. But I'll admit, it feels like something is missing from the performances (they sound almost bored or not giving it their all).

Finished up first session of Ys3 remake The Oath in Felghana last night and so far am enjoying myself~ While definitely missing the bump system and more Zelda/Point and click style puzzle solutions the shift to more Metroidvania style elements isnt bad and combat is fluid and fun~
