look at this transformers i made a while back
zenithal prime, a robot guy with a spotty white and black color scheme. it either looks like he's made of stars, or he's been given a black undercoat with a light white airbrushed top coat, only on the parts that would be facing an imagined light source. you can then paint over your zenithal primed mini with a semi-translucent model paint so that the lighting of the zenithal prime affects the color, making your now fully colored mini look like more realistic
