Emerging from the rocks, a new born cactus. The little one is about the size of a silver dollar. Adorable 🥰

So our first tester batch of mallow, wish us luck. If this works, im replacing my lawn with this, not joking. Was gonna zeroscape before...but a low water, hardy plant that can be eaten raw and makes meat free marshmallow??? Yea that.

Most petty side effect of climate change so far is seeing how many people think the term is "zeroscape"

🌵A Drought-Friendly Delight✨
Swipe for the before and after!

Sometimes, all it takes is a little vision and a lot of love for succulents and cacti to turn a sparse space into a thriving desert island.

We're not that far north and I don't think most cities in the north have that type of infrastructure. Most importantly, we just love wasting water in places it is most scarce and pat ourselves on the back after paying people to zeroscape their lawns.

Today's pet peeve: saying "zeroscape" instead of "xeriscape". I know the former has come into common use, and I know change is how a language stays alive and relevant, but it still makes my teeth itch.

#Gardensky better get ready for all the fungi I’ll be discovering with the ten year zeroscape overhaul 🌱🍄

When your suburb is all zeroscape, no leaf blowers. 😎

I mean, the grass we do lawns with are an ecological nightmare. Getting mad about it to a random author who bought the house with the lawn is pretty silly tho. But if you're thinking of doing new landscaping, look into zeroscape or more native options.

To be fair, zeroscape was pretty much what was left in the checking account after we xeriscaped.

I know, our landscaping costs are about 3k a month to mow and maintain and if you throw in the sprinkler system that's another 1k. It's also though, very expensive to zeroscape but if it had been started years ago, we'd be sitting pretty. People need to learn to listen to me...lol

Look I would appreciate it if crabs went back to their zeroscape ways but they get enamored with a green lawn just like the rest of us.

Not sure I agree with the new branding, but I agree that xeric is not an accessible term. I too thought it was zeroscape
Denver Water Invented Xeriscaping. Now It Wants People to Adopt "ColoradoScaping."
The term "xeriscaping" can have a negative connotation, so Denver Water is rebranding the sustainable landscaping practice.

Yes, I thought I had a steep hill with some displaced rock. Grabbed a rake and was going to clean up and plant on it to support stability. Turns out it's an overgrown zeroscape masterpiece. 5 truckloads apparently. I call it a quarry. Don't care it's not a pit. Someone help me please 🙄

I'd LOVE to just zeroscape the lawn with all rocks, but that gets really pricey really quick. It's a small lawn so not THAT big a deal, but have to stay on top of it.

Turn off the water to Al data centers and lawns. Encourage drought resistant naive plants to zeroscape yards. Reduce development to only where there is water or ability to collect water.

There are better solutions than throw you hands to the skies and share a collective folly

From Arizonian to Denver Water rep- what if you zeroscape & lose lawns as a drought buffer? A. Yeah, tricky situation. #adaptationforum

after doing a full day of lawn care and "light" landscaping, I can firmly say... fuck everything about lawns, what a huge waste of time money water and effort

like, I've always been a zeroscape/let it wild kind of guy so this isn't new, but oof
