For fuck's sake. The C64 and Amiga scene is already lousy with GenAI use; you've got an Italian Zzap64 using Genai wholesale for covers and C64 YouTube channels using it for thumbnails, and someone who attended a recent Amiga demoscene gathering told me that its use was rife there.

For fuck's sake. The C64 and Amiga scene is already lousy with GenAI use; you've got an Italian Zzap64 using Genai wholesale for covers and C64 YouTube channels using it for thumbnails, and someone who attended a recent Amiga demoscene gathering told me that its use was rife there.
The C64 version is a pretty miserable one, crawling along compared to the speccy version and having less traffic and long stretches of nothing, going some way to it earning itself just 9% from Zzap64.

This is one of the first issues I ever read of my very first games magazine: Zzap64. I've picked up most of the issues I can vividly remember reading and they're lovely bits of nostalgia and important sources of research for me.

I've noticed a surprising number of retro gaming/hardware peeps being weirdly okay with casual use of GenAI. The Italian version of New Zzap64 uses it for their covers, and it just looks hideous, same with some of the retro gaming YouTube channels' thumbnails.
