yeah somehow that was the most upsetting part. it makes me want to carry a little tube of toothpaste in my emergency travel bag

That was definitely a harrowing tale, but more in the horror-thriller genre than absurdist-thriller

When do we get the Zola-style movie based on this thread

The one good thing I will say about Canvas is that it DOES allow you to send the last-minute message about being late to everyone in the class. That is literally the only good thing I will say about Canvas.

I once had to spend a weird overnight in Denver, complete with crazy bus trips, but at least the hotel gave us free dinner

Is someone organizing a welcoming committee with food in PDX because it seems earned at this point

Please give what you can to help this incredible author and wonderful human to find a cozy, livable apartment in his new home in Scotland! Bonus: cats will also be happy.
I've launched a GoFundMe to help me get my cats to a safer home in Scotland, and you can pay-what-you-want using the GFM system and get 15 of my books as eBooks as a Thank You every Friday as an update!

That's almost 700,000 words of fiction, pay what you want!

Don't worry -- the good guys (and the clitoris) win

Literally what the story is about!

It's Monday. Please enjoy this short story about a graduate student whose clitoris disappears after the Second Comstock Laws go into effect.

Finished 2 books this weekend:

The Slantwise Histories by @alixeharrow.bsky.social! Her collected work shines, but her new stories reach a whole new level of genius.

A Wall Is Also A Road by @annaleen.bsky.social I devoured in 24 hours, and may be one of the best sci-fi books I've read this year!
