My dad was the first major loss and that was a couple of years before that. There wasn’t a lot of discussion back then about how to even process grief. You were expected to just get on with your life. So we’ve evolved a little since then.

Ten years since my last *proper* holiday (Pian di Sco, Tuscany). Holidays these days are ‘going away for a night’. So am excitedly awaiting a 30-hour holiday in Cardiff next week.

I think a lot of the general public took the opportunity to mourn their own loved ones, because normal broadcasting services essentially stopped. The media had to lose its mind due to a combination of arse-covering and self-justification.
