It was fun, especially running across the bridge, although after the bridge you go down Barbaros bulvar and it’s tough on the shins.

Ahaha Kim :)) of course

I went to North Korea with GG in the 1990s for an undercover reportage. I was pretending to be his parliamentary secretary. Terrifying experience all round! Even more terrifying in retrospect.

Buy everything you can, no regrets

Is Gorgeous George running? My ex-MP in Glasgow Hillhead? Lovely…

I did Istanbul. Started in the Bosporus Bridge and finished at the Blue mosque passing Dolmabahce and the spice market etc.

You guessed it

The Proclaimers have failed the only purity test that matters for progressives. So apparently they’re fascists now 🤦🏻‍♂️

Im not sure exactly how it’s cooked, it was a long time ago when I checked but yep

I didn’t either

It’s cooked

Pretty much. No clue what happened and then really started to panic which didn’t make it better of course

Didnt happen to me but I was there. Very nice restaurant and friend/ relative/acquaintance ordered steak tartare thinking it was Belgian steak tartare.
The hubby and I are off to a posh restaurant (Michelin starred) for our wedding anniversary tonight. So, in the spirit of making BlueSky slightly more fun, what's the most embarrassing thing you've ever done in a posh restaurant?

Got told off, very politely, by a waiter for not eating the cheeks of the fish. And once lost the ability to use chopsticks in a Japanese restaurant. And I started panicking 🤦🏻‍♂️

Because you price it too high?

I’ve been known to do this too. Have even reached out and shaken hands with a few people before.
*Apparently* I am extremely embarrassing in expensive restaurants because when I walk in I sometimes do a little circuit, nodding and smiling at fellow diners as if they’re old friends, acquaintances etc. They invariably nod back, assuming we must have met before.

But soldiering on, I also like greeting some expansive say lobster dish with a joyous cry of ‘This is mighty fine chicken’.

Oh well if I must. Go find A’s essay The Idea of Language which is about language as revelation which is rather unfortunately relevant to some of the AI loons (ie they think they have *actually* created theological revelation.

FWIW this is not intended to be censorial. I entirely understand why people post over there (it’s a much bigger network, valuable for people’s careers etc) but it’s not (at all) cost free.

If I were PM I would invite all the whining billionaires to a summit to discuss their ideas.

Where I would maroon them all on Gruinard with a supply of canned food.

And a single can opener hidden somewhere on the island.

And we’d stream it live.

It would make £ millions
God I hate this 'people who create wealth' nonsense. Let's see how much wealth we have in a society without teachers, nurses etc......
