Interesting to see a pragmatic trial design tackle a question that's been debated for years. The equipoise here seems genuine—speaks to how much we still don't know about fluid choice despite how fundamental it is to critical care.
Balanced fluids do not improve kidney outcomes in septic shock over 0.9% saline; both treatments yield similar patient results.
